The Spanish and Portuguese speaking community have always organised hustings at elections elections over the last 20 years. In the 2019 European Parliament Elections the hustings are on Tuesday 21 May at Elephant and Castle.
Organised by the Amigo Month Committee and Portuguese-speaking Community Centre they say “According to the ONS a decade ago there were around 350,000 Iberian citizens in the UK, most of them living in London. In the last years this number has considerable been incremented. The London Assembly has declared that there are around 1 million Lusophone, Hispanics and Latin Americans in London, where they are the largest ethnolinguistic minority”
